Should Garages Be Allowed to Sell Faulty Vehicles
More and more in this current day and age there are vast amounts of garages that are benefiting from tricking the public. The way they do this is by sweet talking them into purchasing a vehicle, but what happens when the person does decide to buy a car from the garage? It breaks down all of the time and then when you call the garage that you purchased it from they just do not want to know and they begin to ignore your phone calls.
People especially working class families then get stuck with these cars and cannot afford to get them repaired or to buy a new one. Although there is a six month grace period whereas you can go and hand the car back for not being satisfied, most garages know that the problem will come after the grace period itself has been complete.
Then there is nothing you can really do except moan but that does not really get you anywhere very quick. This is what I feel should happen, if you sell a car then the buyer should not have to fix anything mechanical for at least a year or certain mileage otherwise its down to the person or garage that sold it.
Its all well and good for garages to sell broken vehicles and make a profit from it, and this is one of the main reasons thats they are now suffering, because now that the credit crunch is in full swing we are seeing people lose trust in the car industry as a lot of people know that during the financial crisis people cannot afford to risk buying a faulty car so instead they are just sticking to their own or using public transport to go to and fro work.
